I did my first draft for an Art Deco cushion design today. I started with this art deco fabric from the book, Art Deco Textiles by Alain-Rene Hardy:

I traced a portion of it:

And then simplified it:

Got my paints out (first time in ages!) and played:

There’s much more that I don’t like about this than I do, but a few bits of it look better when cropped, like this bit:

Hmm… more work needed on this!
